Sample Schedule:
Four/Five-year-old Class

8:30 AM Director greets children one by one as they enter the room and has a moment to check in with families as needed.

8:30-9:00 Outdoor Play. Children have a chance to greet friends and have some gross motor play.

9:00-10:00 Indoor play. This is a combination of free play and teacher-guided projects/activities. Some examples are:

• Dramatic play with thematic scenarios, such as a veterinarian’s office, pizza restaurant, post office, campsite, bakery, etc.
• Thematic art project with an emphasis on product over process. We want children to enjoy their creativity and try a wide variety of mediums.
• Cooking and science projects
• Literacy table
• Sensory table

10:00-10:15 Clean up and bathroom break.

10:15-11:15 Snack time and circle time, a teacher-led time with songs, thematic games, and skill building to work towards kindergarten readiness.

11:15-11:45 Outdoor play in our large, shaded play area. Activities include, tricycle track, large sandbox and play house, play structure with slides, tire swing, and more! We also allow time for small story groups.

11:45-12:00 Bathroom break.

12:00-12:30 Lunch. Children bring a lunch from home and work on self-care and independence in preparation for kindergarten.

12:30-12:45 Small story groups.

12:45-1:00 Outside play.
